This week on The Winter View: Kane joy, Arsenal lessons, Salah the best, Trent exit
Latest from my daily podcast
The podcast is designed to give to give you a short, sharp, insightful take on the day’s events, sent to your inbox mid-morning. It’s split in three sections, all around 3-5 minutes long. It’s been a seismic week in Europe so the podcast focused heavily on the games in the first and seconds sections, what can be learned, and also issues like is there a respectful way to leave a club in the wake of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s announcement. I know how interested people are on the community work that clubs do, work that rarely gets highlighted in the media. So there were plenty of reflections in the third sections on the community work of clubs like Charlton on psychosis, Birmingham and defibrillators, and Coventry’s fans buying tickets for those who can’t afford them. Tuesday
I focused on Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool exit, a hope that the CRS police in Paris have learned restraint and Birmingham’s work on cardiac arrest.
Wednesday
I celebrated the comebacks and throwbacks of Inter-Barca, looked forward to PSG-Arsenal and looked at Manchester United’s work helping develop young refs.
Thursday
I talked through six things Arsenal need to do to fulfil their ambitions, I wished that PSG would now go on and win their first Champions League and also looked at big-hearted Coventry fans donating season tickets to less fortunate.
Friday
Today I looked at Big Ange’s argument about trophies versus league positions, looked at Mason Mount’s perseverance and marvelled at Charlton’s work helping those with mental health issues by taking them for walks on Cornish beaches.
Hope you enjoy them - and the weekend. Thanks, Henry

It’s a fantastic podcast. Love the three sections. Two main topics and then the excellent community section. Perfect length to. Don’t know how you get this out each day during the week plus 3 Substack posts which are always so good. Plus in demand from tv and radio. Hope the pod has been a success so far. Don’t know why it wouldn’t be.
