Thanks Henry. Ok, well if you like Rashford, that’s good enough for me. I’ll change my mindset. I don’t know whether this system is fit for purpose, and I don’t feel qualified to comment, but there’s something about Ruben I like and most of us believe he has something. We have to get behind him (as we all have done). I hope Antony shines tonight - Another player where it just didn’t feel like he - or we - had time to develop. It’s a hard gig being a United fan, Henry, but even harder being a player! Thanks for your thoughts as always.

I agree with most of what Paul writes on United and Garnacho, but….In this particular era, where we’re without the Keanes, Ferdinands, Nevilles, to rein him in (from whom Ronadlo benefited, I agree Paul), I sadly think it’s acceptable to move him on. Of course he’ll flourish elsewhere (and parts of the media will gleefully report back on what a mistake it was to let him go), but our team is either managed by Amorim, or by Garnacho’s brother and Rashford’s PR team. There’s something rotten in the state of MUFC, as we all know, so for the minute, we don’t have the ability to rebuild (again), AND indulge childish, PUBLIC strops. One question though Henry - Would the likes of Maguire, Evans, Casemeiro, Bruno have tried to rein him in, or is this just not the era/environment where that can happen? Ps Oh for Scotty to be in our dressing room now…..

Culture set by the owners, Jim. Glazers all about themselves and that culture spreads. Not with staff, the ones I know genuinely committed to MUFC, love the club, a passion not a job. But certainly with some players it’s an issue. Plus neither Garnacho or Rashford fit the way Ruben wants to win. He has to win the battle. The manager and his thoughts, team shape etc, has to be the dominant voice. SAF style. Even though things have changed. Players more powerful. Millionaires as teenagers. Family influences. Btw people talk about the Rashford PR machine. I’ve not spoken to any of them since the January window. I like him, rate him as a player and can see that he needs to leave. Doesn’t suit Ruben’s system. Cunha does brilliantly. Needs to work more out of possession but a smart signing for the system. Don’t know what it means for Mount assuming Bruno stays. Antony to shine tonight?!

I felt sorry for Villa yesterday. Knowing how United have been all season, if the goal stood, I believe Villa would have at least secured a point.

Nice send offs for Eriksen & Evans yesterday. Both feel like they have the temperament, technical nous, and humility for coaching, not sure if that is in their near futures or not. I know Eriksen mentioned he plans to play on next season - what a testament to both him and modern medicine.

Thought there was sadness in Garnacho not being afforded some game time yesterday. Seems inevitable this was his last appearance at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player. A lot of our fans are highly critical of the player, citing bad attitude & arrogance. A lot of world class players he has trained and played with give a contrarian view - a quiet player, humble, hardworking, and a dedicated family man. I’ve seen a lot of criticism of his quality as a player, but I’ve also seen this before; Cristiano Ronaldo in his early years was criticised by our fans due to his decision making. I expect Garnacho to flourish elsewhere. I really thought he would be one of our best players when he developed. He’s still only 20. I wish him the very best.

Good points on Garnacho, Paul. Conflicted views on him out there. But most agree on the talent. Not sure his brother helps. Evans definitely has that presence to be a manager. Plus that popularity in the media to give him a softer launch.
